"...ROSENQUIST" |
As far as I've been able to determine, there are no recordings of the "original" L.A.P.D. Dispatcher, Sgt. Jesse Rosenquist broadcasting. I have, however, located some recordings of the CBS radio program "Calling All Cars," which featured Rosenquist doing what would later be called "voiceovers" at the beginning and end of the program. Here is a little over a minute of Rosenquist calls recorded from those 1930s programs. Note that the program about a murder in a theater is based on the actual case of the murder of Lt. Hugh A. Crowley, who was shot when he interrupted a burglary-in-progress on January 11, 1932. |
